Meta-Normal Gratitude
Here We Are
Writing a blog post comes with the potential of getting too personal. On the flip side, being superficial is dry and boring, and not my way.
So here it is. I fell into what writers and editors call the messy middle—both for Book 2 and personally. (There may have been streaks of productive procrastination, anxiety, and British mystery TV show binges.) I am grateful for the time to process. The good news is the way out is in and up—or upside down and backwards, as my late mentor David often reminded me (and still does!).
So here we are—my butt in the chair and hands on the keyboard happily writing. You’re going to love Winter Soulstice, Book 2’s working title. (If you want to be considered for a beta reader, sign up on my Let’s Connect and mention it in the message section. If you’re already signed up, DM me on Insty or TikTok.)
Georgie’s Gratitude
I can share some of the gratitude Georgie Jones feels without spoiling the story for those of you have not yet read Andersen Light: A Meta-Normal Novel. Georgie is grateful for her new best friends, Josefina Garcia and Shawn Green. She loves living in Mystic Creek and spending more time with her dad, and not just because he’s super cool and a great cook. He treats her like a person, not just a kid. They have good talks, even though there have been times when Georgie has not been able to share as much as she would like with him. Don’t even get her started on her gratitude for Luther Andersen—that’s a whole other meta-normal world!
Meta-Normal You
You—readers, listeners, reviewers of Andersen Light (on Amazon, Good Reads, etc.), gifters and donors, book sellers, librarians, and those of you who request Andersen Light: A Meta-Normal Novel be carried at your library and/or bookstore—make a meta-normal difference to Andersen Light’s success. Thank you for posting and sharing on your social media. Thank you for sending me photos of lighthouses for inspiration. Every act of today’s version of word-of-mouth, which may seem small to you, makes a huge difference. You make a meta-normal difference in this world, and I am grateful for you sharing and shining the light. I appreciate you.
